I am currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) and I am due to graduate at the end of 2021. My mission is simple, to empower and educate individuals so that they can take back control of their own health, by providing holistic and individual support.
Naturopathy medicine follows six principles.
First, Do No Harm (Primum non nocere).
The Healing Power of Nature (Vis medicatrix naturae).
Identify and Treat the Cause (Tolle causam).
Doctor as Teacher (Docere)
Treat the Whole Person (Tolle totum)
Additionally, the Naturopathic Therapeutic Order aids in guiding how these six principles are applied. Which includes establishing the conditions for health, stimulating the Vis medicatrix naturae, Tonifying weakened systems, correcting structural integrity, addressing pathology and suppressing or surgically remove pathology.
Basically speaking naturopathic medicine is a holistic complementary medicine approach which incorporates the mind, body and spirit. Healing is established when all aspects of an individual are balanced. Naturopathy medicine focuses on healing the individual by establishing their own inert ability to heal, through removing obstacles/aspects which are stopping them from being healthy and supporting that through the least force necessary. Generally speaking, Naturopathic medicine consists of dietary and lifestyle modifications as well as nutrient supplements, herbal medicine and other treatments deemed appropriate. Not all aspects of the Therapeutic Order are within the scope of a Naturopath and in the instance that further things are required referrals may be necessary.
